Safety ~ The SPEED is a low wing aircraft (wing area: 12.62 sqm) with a higher wing loading than the GR-912. The aircraft has the same ultra strong welded steel pilot protection frame coated with our latest zinc Epoxy protection system which has a twenty year conditional guarantee.
The Hughes Group of Companies have found over the past twenty years, in Australian Aviation, our welded steel frame offers the best possible protection to our pilots and passengers. Although damage may occur to some aircraft, with over 160 of our aircraft manufactured in Australia, we usually carry out only one major repair approximately every two years.

About The Australian LightWing SPEED Range

The SPEED Range has been designed to compete head to head with imported four seat kits, the difference being that the SPEED Range is completely Australian made, with Australian backup, repair and spare parts.
To cover Australia’s vast distances affordably and comfortably, the LightWing SPEED Range has been developed specificially for the flying enthusiast who expects superlative quality, excellence in engineering design and the ultimate in safety and efficiency.
With a quarter century of design, production and flying experience in the Australian aviation industry, The Hughes Group proudly presents the Australian LightWing SPEED Range of light two and four seat aircraft.
We believe the SPEED Range to be the first two or four place low wing light aircraft to be produced in Australian in forty years.
The SPEED is available in six optional configurations, from the lightweight RAA registerable SP-2000S to the four seat SP-4000.

So, what's a syndicate? In a nutshell,
• A group syndicate means the SP-2000 aircraft is owned by a group of two or more pilots.
• There are as many ways of achieving this as colours in the rainbow but in general, lets say, your aircraft is owned by four or more pilots. This means four people have use of the aircraft. The purchase price of the aircraft is accordingly reduced to a quarter, likewise the costs of insurance and maintenance.
