Safety ~ The SPEED is a low wing aircraft (wing area: 12.62 sqm) with a higher wing loading than the GR-912. The aircraft has the same ultra strong welded steel pilot protection frame coated with our latest zinc Epoxy protection system which has a twenty year conditional guarantee.
The Hughes Group of Companies have found over the past twenty years, in Australian Aviation, our welded steel frame offers the best possible protection to our pilots and passengers. Although damage may occur to some aircraft, with over 160 of our aircraft manufactured in Australia, we usually carry out only one major repair approximately every two years.

What does the CAN system consist of?
The CAN system consists of an onboard but compact PC, coupled to a digital gyro and a daylight readable LCD touch screen.

The software and hardware come in three packages. Firstly, the digital E-Gyro software, Secondly, Mountain Scope which interprets data from the GPS and the digital gyro to provide both flat maps and a windshield view of the world outside the aircraft, and finally flat mapping navigation program ‘Fugawi’ which stores and provides the pilot with a full range of digital charts and maps. |

The CAN system runs in two modes, with a switch alternating between the two and the touch screen enabling the software programs to operate. It is not possible to operate both programs at the one time, although whilst running Mountain Scope a Fugawi map can be brought up on the screen using standard Windows format (both these programs are Windows based). |

The Propellor hub features a 4130 steel clamp which locks the Bolly Carbon fibre blades (2 diameter available 68" and 72" right Manual adjustments between coarse and fine pitch is made by a Vernier cable located in the cockpit. The Propellor comes complete with the cable, manual and mounting brackets to suit all Rotax hollow shaft engines and any engine up to 120 hp that has a gear drive and a hollow propshaft.. If you want to get the most out of your engine you must have a VIP Prop! |

Dealer enquiries are most welcome. LightWing's In-flight Adjustable Prop made its first appearance at Natfly 2006. We developed the design and machined the components in the first half of this year and it flew to the Annual Fly-In at Narromine this Easter.
